Maglite Stand

Project List First Page Previous Page Next Page

The stand for the Maglite torch is made from a small yew blank. It is made like a bowl with a very small "dish"

The blank is held by the tailstock against the jaws of the chuck, to give a friction drive

A temporary spigot is cut in what will become the "top" side. Unlike the spigot for a bowl, this one is as big as possible.

The blank is reversed and turned to the shape of a true cylinder

A small holding recess is cut in the side which will become the "bottom"

The lower part of the Maglite stand is shaped, sanded and polished
