The last two corners of the support piece are removed to improve balance
The faceplate is removed to reveal the spigot. Most of the support piece is removed
The rear surface can now be shaped as the support is eroded away
The discus shape is formed on the rear surface (the bottom of the bowl)
The rear surface is completed, sanded and polished
