The new technique used a special four-position trunnion for the tailstock end
The trunnion is made of thick ply. It has a 22mm square hole and a 6mm bolt
The blank is 75mm square with a 22mm square tenon at one end
The trunnion fits tightly on the tenon and is secured by the bolt
The live Stebcentre tailstock fits into a 22mm shallow hole in the trunnion
At the headstock end, the four offset centres are only 10mm out
