The angle of the conical hollow is adjusted to the same angle as the outside
As the internal cone develops, the inside ellipse becomes clear
The pine disc and spigot is removed (using several craft knife blades to prise them apart)
A spirit level used to check parallels, the base can be hand sanded if necessary
