Burr Tools for Loyd Polyominoes

The software package Burr Tools was used extensively.
If you want to verify the solutions, you will need the rather complicated shape files.

To cope with the small right angled traingles with sides [1, 2 root(5)] the Burr Tools grid is quadrupled and the square and triangle are represented like this

The explanation of the shapes in the Burr Tools file is this:

• S1 to S50 plausible puzzle pieces
• S51 to S57 - the five tetrominoes and two mirrors (L and S)
• S58 to S75 - the twelve pentominoes and six mirrors (L, P, R, S, Y, Z)
• S76 onwards - other target shapes of interest (some may not have solutions for certain groups of pieces)

The explanation of the puzzles is this

• P1, P2 and P3 - the 8-piece groups (P1 was the Gift Exchange group)
• P4 - the 9-piece group
• P5 onwards - other groups of interest
